Description
The New York Public Library Main Branch, a landmark in New York City was built for a cost of $9 Million dollars and has 75 miles of shelves holding over one million books. Included among the million books is a collection of rare books dating back before 1501 as well as the Lenox Copy of the Gutenberg Bible.
The building dedicated in May 1911 has had a couple of renovations with another one being organized. The inside of the building is one of great beauty and should not be missed when visiting New York.
